Watched "Mean Girls" last night.
The movie gave me an idea. I was thinking about another attitude-driven movie, "Bring it on" and I got an idea for a display. I made a food display in my library window. I made a place setting with silverware and a plate and mounted it onto a big, colorful poster. I used MS word wordart to create a circular headline (on the plate) that reads,
"YOU GOT SERVED...
good books about food!"
And all the books on the display have silverware or the words "Yum!" or "Tasty!" coming out of them like bookmarks.
It's got a sort of library geek chic/"Bring it on" appeal and the ONE sassy black woman teacher in the school came in to tell me -- I LOVE IT, Mr. Brady, FABULOUS! ...but you and I will be the only ones to get it, you know?" I told her I didn't mind.
