Tuesday, Aug. 05, 2003 - 12:06 pm Um... I'm sorry. This relationship just isn't working for me. I'm at www.dailypreciousness.org now. So change that bookmark. Paleozoic pickles. That's what the T-Rex was eating in the story that I read today to a group of 45 exuberant 5 to 8-year-olds. They were all grins and giggles as we read stories about pterodactyls, stegosauri, and the charming and personable triceratops. "Remember," I told them, "that the triceratops liked to munch on long green ferns. So, if you want to grow up big and strong like him, you’ve got to eat your salad!" I got some major Mom points from that comment. In fact, one mother made a point to thank me on the way out. "Thank you so much for being a great story-teller today," she said. "We stopped coming to these a few months back because we didn't really have a connection with the story-teller. But we had a great time today." She was all smiles. I handed her little girl a die-cut triceratops and thanked her for the kind words. Tonight I run with Ale and take some pics of him for his fund-raising page. Then, we'll watch Queer Eye for a Straight Guy. Should be funtabulous. The day started out awfully with spilled coffee on the newly pressed shirt. On the way to work, a beautiful skylark flew right in front of me. I hit it and just started crying uncontrollably. It was nearly impossible to drive through the tears!
