Um... I'm sorry.

This relationship just isn't working for me.

I'm at www.dailypreciousness.org now. So change that bookmark.

Busy day, today. I went by to clear out my old desk and say goodbye to my former coworkers. I also wrote thank you notes for my gifts.

I got: a neat gel pen set with midnight toned post-it notes, a basket of Asian foods, a cool mug with "joy" written in Chinese on it, a tupperwear set for lunches and a nifty stained glass window with books of purple, green and gold.

The exit interview went well. I handed over my box of unused business cards. It was insane -- I'd only used about 300 of the box of 5,000. Well, I guess I should've networked more, right? I mean, I gave out tons of those suckers. To be honest, I gave most of them out while bar-hopping. (They had my cell number on them.)

Spaking of my cell, I'll have to remember to delete the office number, which I had listed as "Library Fools."

After the little "goodbye" interview, I rushed northward so I could drop off the paperwork for the new job. The TB test, the duplicate set of fingerprints, the Central Registry for Child Abuse application and all of that good stuff I gave to them. Everything seemed to be in order. Thank God!

I signed everything with my new address in Arlington. I asked if that would be a problem. They said it was fine. So I'm good to go for Monday morning at 8:30.

In other news, I had a great time last night with Will. We watched Survivor together. It was fun. We drank Captain Morgan's rum with our Vanilla Pepsi and toasted to the Morgan tribe. I got a little "arrrrrrrr"-ing in, since I'd not actually gone to work on International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Will makes nice, strong drinks. He, his friend Kristin and I, pigged out on yummy pre-Halloween candy that I nabbed at CVS, along with a big package of pictures that I'd been meaning to get developed for ages.

I've been in a super-nostalgia frame of mind the last week. Packing up my things in boxes always has that effect on me. And leaving an apartment does, too. At least I'll only be 25-30 minutes away. So I'll be nearby.

I sang to Sarah Brightman's "Last Day" a little bit before the iPod ran out of juice, "This is the last day for me; it's a beautiful day," from "Un Bel Di."

Note to self: go to karaoke soon and get that vitamin K out of the system.
