Um... I'm sorry.

This relationship just isn't working for me.

I'm at www.dailypreciousness.org now. So change that bookmark.

HAVE TUX, will travel? Seeking liberal, well-educated, NPR-loving, active, considerate, affectionate, N/S, 52-60, who loves DC, NY, travel and wishes he were in love again.

That's what the ad in the Post said. I read it, wondering how many people really considered NPR to be an essential ingredient to a mate's regular media diet. Do Click and Clack know about this? (Would they riff comedic about this personals ad, between carburetor anecdotes?) Would somebody call Silvia Pojolli in Rome to tell her about this? (Would she sip on her espresso, giggling in a café, gazing out into the palazzo?)

If I were 52-60, I would've answered it in a second, just for laughs. And it would be nice to know why this lady loved NPR so much to mention it to a potential life partner.

I think I will circle the ad with a red crayon. Scratch that -- I will draw a heart around it, with an arrow piercing it. Then, I will clip and send the ad to NPR with a note suggesting that they call the woman who wrote it and do a piece for their next beg-athon -- I mean "fund drive."

Then, in a few months, when the begging begins, I will listen for my -- I mean *her* advert… to see if they took my suggestion.

And before any of you readers get any ideas, I'm dating right now and I don't want to come into work tomorrow with a mountain of mail from adoring fans.

Please, stop before you start. I wouldn't be able to explain away all the cards and letters if this happened again. (I would hate to make my co-workers jealous!)

Look at it this way: there *IS* such a thing as too much preciousness. So get your daily dose here and don't overdose.

Have tux, will blog...
