Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 - 10:12 pm Um... I'm sorry. This relationship just isn't working for me. I'm at www.dailypreciousness.org now. So change that bookmark. She kissed me, very gently, on my hand. It was awkward, not knowing what she was doing with it. She grabbed at it with her left hand, brought it to her mouth and kissed the back of my right hand. How darling and innocent was the look in her eye. Very sweet. Noalie must have been happy with her customer service today. So she responded with the most obvious way to say "thank you" that she, in her 5-year-old world view, knew. On another randomly sweet/sweetly random note, Mr. "B," a special education assistant who wants to work for the CIA one day, walked into the library with a smile on his face, saying, "How is the most handsome, brilliant, wonderful librarian in the world doing today?" "Much better, after that PR work, " I replied. He was just dropping in to say hi. The straight-but-not-narrow guy is getting married next fall. I look forward to meeting his bride. They white water raft together, he tells me, and I'm "always welcome to come with," he insists. Although I'm hesitant board a vessel of any kind with somebody who ends a sentence with "come with," I'll probably go because I love white water rafting so much. And I look darn good in a wetsuit and swimming vest. (The vest makes me look as broad shouldered as a football player!) Those were the two little chin-up moments of my day today.
