Um... I'm sorry.

This relationship just isn't working for me.

I'm at www.dailypreciousness.org now. So change that bookmark.

I’m sitting here, chewing on molasses-brown gingerbread. It’s an evil Santa cookie I bought a few weeks back at Zaro’s Bakery in New York’s Penn Station. It’s an old-fashioned European Santa cookie. The merry old fellow is winking and has pink cheeks, as if he’s slightly tipsy or something. I suppose he’s not an evil Santa, but he’s a cruel, shallow one. I say this with a little bit of bitterness, since when I bit into the cookie, I discovered that the Santa decoration was not actually edible. I thought that the image was the super-thin printer-quality frosting that came out that Duncan Hines-Hewlett Packard merger last year. But no, I was mistaken.

Santa was nothing more than an old picture photocopied on inedible paper – inedible yucky paper, for that matter! I can’t believe they’d sell it packaged like that. Dangerous. I could sue!

But even an evil Santa can’t disrupt my positive headspace. I shouldn’t really complain; I’ve been handed more than eight little offerings from tiny hands. The little rug rats have been giving me plenty: Sweet potato bread, oodles of candles, cookies, a small stuffed animal, blueberry jam… all kinds of stuff. Who ever knew that my stocking would be so full? Not bad – not bad at all.

So, with all this loot, even an evil Santa can’t foul up my mood.
